When in high school Glenda wanted to be a commercial artist, but since she was the oldest of six children and her father was retired from the military there was not money for art schools. She had taken a drafting class in high school (the first and only girl at that time to do so) with the idea of becoming an interior designer.

Glenda worked as a waitress while attending Linn Technical College and received a degree in Design Drafting. In the mid 1980's Glenda took a night class in photography and for years it was her artistic outlet. She now uses the many photos she took as inspiration for her art work.

In 2010 Glenda retired from Pittsburgh Corning and started taking art classes at State Fair Community College. The college has purchased two pieces of her art work.

Glenda is currently the Secretary/Treasurer of the Sedalia Visual Art Association.
